Details
A collectible 20th Century Reliance hand press by Paul Shniedewend & Co., Chicago, USA: the Washington-style toggle press that letterpress printers love. It has the cast-iron arched frame with the embossed crest, a toggle lever with wooden handle, a ribbed platen, and rails with the bed and rounce crank. Serial No. 1040 is stamped under the crest. It sits on a wood pallet.
It's coming out of a warehouse cleanout, so it's sold as-is. It has surface dust and a nice patina and appears structurally complete. It has not been test-printed. The tympan and frisket aren't visible and may be missing. The platen is tabletop-size, with short rails.
